Metro West improves the City of Fairfax Connector Trail conditions and access and incorporates a linear park and trail along Vaden Drive extended from Saintsbury Drive to Route 29/Lee Highway. A new pedestrian crossing of Hatmark Branch and a network of trails greatly enhance access to and through East Blake Lane Park and Metro.

Community parks, courtyards, green spaces and recreational areas are developed throughout Metro West and all are linked by walkways including safe pedestrian walkways at key intersections. The Town Center will host an outdoor activity area that will feature special events.

Metro West is donating the land and a public use community and recreation center that Fairfax County may devote to basketball, a fitness center and meeting rooms. Metro West residents and many residents of surrounding neighborhoods will be no further than a five-minute walk from the center.

Park improvements and green space development will proceed simultaneously with overall project development.
